Situated east of Steamboat Springs along Highway 40, the town of Kremmling, Colorado, offers access to a diverse array of exhilarating things to do. Our hotel is close to three national forests: Routt, Arapahoe and White River. The Blue River, the Colorado River and Muddy Creek all pass through Kremmling, too, providing ample whitewater adventures for kayakers and rafters as well as some excellent fishing spots. In fact, the fishing is so good that when the town's reservoir freezes over, it holds an ice-fishing tournament in February. Plus, if you crave speed on the snow, snowmobile drag races are held during the last week in January.

Snowmobiling

Are you passionate about snowmobiling? Then you’re visiting the right place! The Rabbit Ears and Spring Creek recreation areas have great snowmobiling opportunities that you’ll certainly love to explore.

Nordic Skiing, Fat Bike Riding and Snowshoeing

Sporting enthusiasts of all kinds are drawn to Kremmling for the most specialized outdoor activities. Nordic skiing, fat bike riding and snowshoeing are just some of the fun experiences you can take full advantage of in this region. Make sure to put the Rabbit Ears recreation area, the Spring Creek recreation area and Latigo Ranch (grooms trails, snowshoeing and Nordic skiing) on your itinerary.

Hunting

If hunting is one of your favorite pasttimes, you’re certainly in the right region. Check out the various GMU (Game Management Unit) regions that you can access during your stay. In this area, you’re welcome to explore GMU 15: Rock Creek and GMU 37: Junction Butte as well as GMU 28 and 18: Kemp-Breeze.

Horseback Riding

Interested in horseback riding? Then make sure to put the Rusty Spurr Ranch on your list of places to visit. There’s also the Latigo Ranch for great horseback riding fun. And don’t forget the Bar Lazy J Ranch as another terrific option.

Fishing

There are multiple ways to experience fishing of all kinds during your visit to Colorado. Check out Gold Medal Waters for fly fishing. Stop by Wolford and Green Mountain Reservoirs. If you’re interested in ice fishing, Wolford Reservoir is definitely a top place to get the most out of this sport.

Rafting and Kayaking

Ready for a real adrenaline rush? Then you need to experience a Class V Whitewater rafting trip while you’re in and around Kremmling. Be sure to try your hand at kayaking during your stay, too. Both types of fun water adventures can be enjoyed at Gore Canyon.

ATV, Jeeping and Off-Roading

One of the most exciting ways to see Colorado up close and personal is by hitting the road. Explore rugged trails along Highway 40 East and through the West Kremmling back country.

Mountain Biking

When it comes to mountain biking, the Kremmling region is the perfect spot to experience this energetic sport. Make sure to stop by the Latigo Ranch groomed trails. Plus, you can check out the Wolford Reservoir recreation area, the Gore Canyon Trail (pumphouse recreation area) and the Rabbit Ears recreation area. The Kremmling area definitely caters to hikers and runners who wish to take in the stunning scenery. Enjoy pedestrian-only trails that are available and marked. You can access these paths at the Wolford Reservoir recreation area, the Gore Canyon Trail (pumphouse recreation area) and the Rabbit Ears recreation area.
